Street Market thanks

The sun shone. The people came. Fun was had.

We are very pleased to say that the first street market in Nairn for many years has been  a tremendous success.

Busy from early in the day, some stallholders were completely sold out before noon and there were more people on the High Street than have been seen for many years.

The Association of Nairn Businesses would like to thank everyone involved in making the day a success: the members of the organising committee, stallholders,  the Highland Council for their support, the Boys Brigade and Army cadets for their help with the marshalling, all the musicians and Kim & Alan Brown for their work in organising all the music and everyone who came along on the day to make it such a success.

Nairn Street Market

It's nearly here...the first street market in many years is almost upon us  and it's looking like it's going to be a great weekend.

Saturday  will see the High Street closed to traffic from early morning and the market begins at 9.

There'll be over 50 stalls, with a wide range of crafts , gifts, hot food, local produce and so much more, plus a selection of charity stalls for some great fund raising fun and all the existing businesses will be joining in too.

We've also a superb list of bands playing  in two locations. The RBS corner is given over to some really talented modern bands and singers, while Castle Square belongs to the equally talented performers from the traditional/folk end of the spectrum.

So come to Scotland's sunshine town for a tremendous family day out.

It's a festival with fun, food, shopping and music and the parking is free !!!!

'Nairn, try something traditional'

Street Market Celebrity Wanted

The Nairn Street Market will be taking place  this year on Saturday 20th July.

It is always  a really popular and well supported event and this year will see it back to its best, with lots of stalls  and entertainment, from the top of the Brae right up into Leopold Street.
The roads will be closed for the day, so we can all enjoy a car free High Street.

On important job to do though is to find someone to offically open the event and we thought the best people to decide who should do it would be the residents of Nairn.

Apart from cutting the ribbon, we will be treating our celebrity to  lunch for two at the Classroom to say thanks for helping us on the day.

So, if you have can suggest someone who you think deserves a treat, or perhaps nominate someone who does a lot of work that has benefited people in the town , please let us know by emailing us This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
